How to Take CBD

Interest in CBD oil has been gaining momentum in the holistic community for its many therapeutic benefits. CBD interacts with the body’s natural endocannabinoid system to help promote homeostasis. In a nutshell, CBD works in harmony with the body’s endocannabinoid system and can help bring balance to the mind, body, and soul. Studies have show that CBD has been found to be very helpful with the treatment of inflammation, pain, anxiety, seizures, and muscle spasms. For a more extensive list of how CBD can help treat an array of ailments, see: CBD Oil Benefits.

Research is also currently underway for CBD oil’s benefits in relation to chronic ailments, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, and Epilepsy.

There are various methods you can take CBD. The most common are:

CBD oil can be placed under your tongue via a dropper and held for at least 30-90 seconds before swallowing. Sublingual administration allows the CBD oil’s active ingredients to be quickly absorbed through the mucous membranes inside the mouth. The taste of CBD Oil can vary depending on which oils are used to mix the CBD, but the overall consensus is that it has a very earthy and “green” taste.

Cannabis Oil extracts can also be inhaled by using a vape pen. A particular benefit for this method of delivery is that the effects are felt almost immediately, making it a fantastic option for treating acute symptoms that may require immediate attention.

There are several methods to ingest CBD, including edibles, mints, beverages, gel caps or gummies. These are great options for those who aren’t particularly fond of CBD’s earthy taste. Ingesting CBD has a slower onset, however, its effects can last several hours or more.

CBD can also be used topically as a pain salve or for skin relief. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, using CBD in lotions or salves can provide relief for painful muscle, skin, and joint conditions.

CBD Dosages

As far as dosages are concerned, they can vary from person to person. Average dosages can range from a few milligrams to more than a gram. We recommend that you begin with a small dose, and slowly work your way up to larger dosages every few days, depending on your needs. The good news is that cannabidiol is non-toxic, with no known fatal overdose ever reported. Doses of up to 1,500 mg/day of CBD are reported to be well tolerated.
